Do you want to join a new group, meet new people and learn new skills? Are you nifty with a needle or can spin a good yarn?
Our Women’s Textile group is a great place to make new friends and practice your textile craft. Working with different artists and guest speakers, the group works on a variety of projects.
In this session, we will be finishing a project the textile group has been working on for several months. The piece is a three-panel installation, inspired by the recordings of Jewish Mancunians talking about their personal experiences of the Sabbath. The panel installation involves a range of different media from crochet to embroidery, celebrating the creativity of the group and their responses to this rich audio piece.
Come help us shape the last details and find out more about our next project as a group!
Don’t worry if this is your first session, it’s a great time to get a flavour of the projects we work on and meet the group – you’d be most welcome! We are a friendly group open to any self-identifying woman, no sewing experience necessary.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The session is open to anyone of any level – beginners and seasoned pros.
The workshop is 1 hour and 30 minutes and there will be refreshments provided.
All materials are included as part of the workshop, but do feel free to bring any creations you are working on to share with the group! We’d love to see!
